HOW DELIVERY WORKS

We are a boutique online meat market. We are doing our best to bring a ‘butcher experience’ online. We source all products directly from farms/butcheries. Click here to see a list of farms and brands. We are also on a mission to only stock farms that practice regenerative agriculture.

70 – 80% of products are delivered fresh. If frozen it is advised in the product description. Certain regions require all items to be frozen. Please check your region below.

We do NOT supply any mass produced, feedlot meat. Only grass fed cows, naturally reared/pasture reared animals, and truly free range (not the supermarket free-range). All farms are listed here – we do not get meat from anywhere else.

We are doing our best to support farms that practice regenerative agriculture. This is the future of farming! It is a win-win for everyone involved, from the farmer, to saving the planet, humane treatment of animals, and finally to the consumer who gets extremely healthy meat. There is only one way to shift all farming to regenerative agriculture, it is in the hands of the consumer.

We follow all suggested health protocols regarding COVID19 during delivery, mainly wearing a mask, sanitising hands for each delivery, and social distancing as much as possible

Certain specialty items/cuts may take a week or two to be delivered, it is advised in the product description.

For all areas outside of Cape Town, it is safest is to plan ahead by 1 week.

PAYMENT AND WEIGHTS:

It is impossible to get many cuts to the exact weight displayed online. eg 1kg of Brisket will be slightly different every single time. The process will work as follows.

  1. Place your order as normal, with your chosen weights for each product, and receive an email confirmation. There is no payment required when placing an order.
  2. Within 72 hours or less you will be advised of a delivery day/time.
  3. The day before delivery, your order will be updated via email with the exact weights and costs. Weights could vary to be 10% under and 10% over on certain items. eg 900g – 1.2kg Beef Brisket.
  4. You will have the choice to EFT before delivery (before 16h00) or simply swipe your Visa/Mastercard on delivery (Cape Town only), or use Snapscan on delivery (Cape Town only), or secure online payment link via YOCO or Snapscan.

DELIVERY REGIONS:

CAPE TOWN

Delivery is to all suburbs in Cape Town, Northern/Southern – everywhere in greater Cape Town.

Delivery days are generally Tuesday to Friday – but do not forget for same week delivery please order before 15h00 Wednesday. The logistics of sourcing produce from various farms in the Western/Eastern Cape means we need at least a day.

About 75% of products are delivered fresh.

The day before delivery, your order will be updated via email with the exact weights and costs. along with payment options and the exact date and time of delivery.

You have a choice of paying via a secure online link, swipe Visa/Mastercard/Apple Pay/Snapscan on delivery, or EFT before 16h00.

Your order will be delivered in a polystyrene cooler/delivery box, for environmental reasons we kindly ask you to unpack your items and return the box for reuse to the delivery person.

WESTERN CAPE

We can deliver almost anywhere in the Western Cape.

Please note outlying areas may attract an additional charge over and above what is quoted online. eg Wilderness is an outlying area of George. You will be advised of any additional delivery costs before any payments are made.

On Wednesday, you will receive an updated email with exact costs, and payment options. Payment options are limited to secure online link or EFT.

Courier is dispatched on either Wednesday or Thursday, for delivery the following day

All items will be frozen.

We package your order in a polystyrene cooler box, with at least one ice pack to help keep cold/frozen. Our trusted courier also has cold storage facilities.

Courier costs vary depending on the size of your order but please keep in mind there could be an additional surcharge for outlying areas.

You will receive full courier and tracking details. Please note the responsibility is on the customer to ensure availability when delivery is made. Not being available could cause delivery delays and result in an unsatisfactory product.

GAUTENG / EASTERN CAPE / FREE STATE / NORTHERN CAPE / LIMPOPO / NORTH WEST / MPUMALANGA

We can deliver anywhere an overnight delivery option exists for your city/town.

Outlying areas will attract additional fees which will be advised before any payments are made.

Due to ever-increasing courier costs, orders are limited to 5kg per order. If you would like to order more than this – a new order must be created.

KWAZULU-NATAL

At the moment overnight delivery cannot be guaranteed through our couriers – so we cannot deliver to Kwazulu Natal at the moment.
