  • 1 Wooden spoon or spatula
  • 1 Grater or mini-chopper for garlic and ginger (optional)
  • measuring spoons
  • Knife and cutting board

Ingredients

  • 450 grams ground beef (any lean ratio)
  • 2 tbsp oil (vegetable or neutral)
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely grated or chopped
  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger (or 1 tsp ground)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sweetener (brown sugar, honey, or agave syrup)
  • Fresh green onions or veggies for serving (optional)

Instructions

  • Prep aromatics:Grate or mince garlic and ginger; set aside.
  • Heat skillet:Place pan over high heat, add oil until shimmering.
  • Sauté garlic & ginger:Add to the pan and stir continuously for ~30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Cook beef:Add ground beef, break it up, and brown fully (~3 min). Let sit undisturbed briefly to get a bit of crispiness.

  • Serve:Spoon over steamed rice, garnish with chopped green onions or simple veggies. Ready in under 10 minutes!

Notes

  • Use lean or regular ground beef based on preference; add a splash of water or broth if dry.
  • Swap sweetener with honey or brown sugar to vary taste.
  • Add frozen peas or sliced peppers when cooking beef to bulk it up.
  • For extra heat, toss in a pinch of chili flakes.
