Fallow Deer, also known as Takbok in South Africa is very common in Europe and is slowly gaining popularity in South Africa. It has a slightly closer taste to beef. Takbok Rump is deboned and trimmed. Like all Venison the best way to cook it is a simple sear for 2/3 minutes each side on high heat.
